DB Goblet Squats

DB Goblet Squats
You’ve heard that squats are a great exercise for building strength in the glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings and lower back, but you’re not really sure how to do them correctly or where to begin. The DB Goblet Squat is a great place to start when learning how to squat. Here is how you do it:

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and hold one dumbbell with both hands grasping one end of the dumbbell, not the handle, at chest level. You’ll hold the dumbbell vertically so it resembles a goblet. Begin by pushing your hips and butt back while bending at the knees. Squat until the tops of your thighs are parallel to the ground and then push through your heels to return to the starting position. That’s one rep. Try to keep your back straight, chest up and head looking straight ahead. Don’t let the knees push out past the toes. Start with 2-3 sets of 10 reps, resting 1 minute in-between sets.
