The Grove hires a new Club Manager

One of the most important aspects of the Club Manager position is the ability and willingness of the individual to “fit” into The Grove family and to the community.  With emphasis on food and beverage, especially wine, we began our search in early February and narrowed the candidates to five excellent individuals.  After two rounds of interviews we are pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Kris Garner who joined us from the prestigious Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, TN.

Cherokee, founded in 1907, is one of the four oldest clubs in Tennessee, an original Donald Ross design with almost 800 members.  Kris has been employed at Cherokee for the past six years and was the driving force behind the development of a wine cellar housing over 6,000 bottles, founded the Cherokee Wine Club and developed Cherokee’s signature beer and private label whiskey.

A native of Pulaski, Tennessee, Kris has lots of local ties to the area and his wife Jessica also grew up in middle Tennessee.  We welcome Kris to The Grove family with open arms.  Kris is thrilled to be here and says, “The sense of family that radiates around here speak volumes to what has been created, and I am excited to be a part of that family and the growing culture.”
