The Grover Charity Golf Event, Concert, and Dinner was implemented to help meet the ongoing needs of several nonprofit organizations in our community. We take great pride in being able to see our efforts make a direct impact on so many people and animals alike, throughout Middle Tennessee.
The funds raised during this event will help our nonprofit partners to achieve their goals, which include everything from providing college scholarships, to finding forever homes for abandoned cats and dogs. Our goal for this year’s event is to raise $100,000 to be split between Agape Animal Rescue, the Williamson County Animal Center, and The First Tee of Middle Tennessee, so that each of these deserving organizations can achieve their objectives and change lives for the better.
Below are statements from each of the charities participating in this year’s Grover outlining their needs and missions. We sincerely hope that each of you will consider joining us on the 24th and 25th to support these charities which do so much for so many.
Agape Animal Rescue
Agape Animal Rescue is dedicated to finding forever homes for abandoned and displaced dogs. We appreciate that our friends at The Grove support us in this mission through year-round fundraisers and awareness events. The Grover directly impacts how many dogs we are able to save from shelters with high euthanasia rates as we use the funds raised from this event to pay for the dogs medical and rehabilitation needs. On average we spend $350 per dog to get them ready for adoption. We hope you will join us for Sunday night’s dinner and concert or for a round of golf on Monday in an effort to help us rescue 100 more.
The First Tee of Middle Tennessee
The First Tee of Middle Tennessee has no better partner than The Grover when it comes to helping provide its young golfers with college tuition scholarships. In 2017 there were 23 graduates awarded $58,000 in tuition grants. Golf’s core values like honesty and integrity are taught to hundreds of Middle Tennessee teens in Metro’s community centers and on The First Tee campus in Shelby Park at The VinnyLinks.
Williamson County Animal Center
The goal of the Williamson County Animal Center is to increase the save rate, find a good home for every adoptable pet, slow pet population growth, end animal neglect, and abuse and be a positive force in the community. Our friends at The Grove have been instrumental in helping us to achieve our goals. In 2016, WCAC was able to save 96% of all of the dogs and cats that entered their facility, either through adoption, transfer to a rescue, or reuniting them with their owners.
Events like The Grover and last year’s RoverWorks give us the funding to continue saving lives all over Williamson County. Currently, the WCAC is at capacity with cats and kittens and in need of wet kitten and wet adult food. Please join us at The Grover to help us find forever homes for these deserving animals.
Donations can also be dropped off at the shelter, or you can purchase items from the WCAC’s Amazon wish list. Thank you once again for helping our animals!
