Come join us at The Grove for this year’s Honor The Fallen 5K and Memorial Mile on May 9th to show your support for our veterans and their families. This charity event is in support of Memories of Honor, a nonprofit organization that The Grove supports each year. Memories of Honor specializes in gathering support for the ever-growing number of fallen veterans and the families they leave behind.
Memories of Honor raises awareness for veterans through various sports and special events. The organization’s events provide healthy outlets for PTSD, depression, and the survivors’ guilt that war often leaves behind.
All 5K entries include a fallen hero memorial bib (with the printed name of a fallen hero), a high-quality race shirt, a custom commemorative finishers award, entry into the memorial mile, and finally, a wristband to enjoy free food and music during the post-race after party.
Awards will be presented by age group at the end of the race. There will also be a patriotic passing of the flag ceremony to honor our fallen heroes and lawn games for the kids. Memories of Honor and ValorBands vendors will be on site to gain your support.
At The Grove, we are honored to have the opportunity to give back to various community outreach programs, like Memories of Honor, throughout the year. We are proud to say that last year’s Honor the Fallen 5K and Memorial Mile raised $25,000 for Memories of Honor. We aim to surpass this benchmark in 2020. Early bird registrations for the 5K run/walk cost $35 and will go up after March 30th. Reserve your spot soon at www.honorthefallen5k.com/.
