Williamson County also led the U.S. in job growth at 6.7 percent for four consecutive quarters in 2016, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This influx of job growth can be attributed to the relocation of corporate juggernauts like Nissan North America as well as being home to 13 of the largest 25 publicly traded companies in the Nashville region.
Leading the Way
For many who are familiar with Middle Tennessee, Williamson County’s powerhouse of an economy is not new news; Williamson has been topping the State and National growth charts for the past several years.
According to the Williamson County 2017 Trends Report, from 2010 to 2015 Williamson County led the region with 29% job growth, and subsequently, currently has the lowest unemployment rate in the state. In fact, one in five of all management jobs in Tennessee are located right here in Williamson County!
Looking Toward the Future
Things don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon around Williamson County. The Williamson County Chamber of Commerce projects that Williamson’s population will increase by 153% and will pass Chattanooga-Hamilton County as the most populous county in the state by 2040.
