At The Grove, we love supporting our community and giving back whenever we can! Most recently, The Grove residents hosted “Songwriter’s Night” to benefit our local Page Middle School. As the middle school for The Grove, Page holds a special place in our hearts, so, we set out to assist in getting them the updated technology and school supplies they so desperately need.

Christy Huff, a parent of a 7th grader at Page, had witnessed the schools lack of technology in the classrooms and wanted to do something about it.  After enlisting the help of fellow parents, sponsors and local songwriters, she organized a silent auction and an evening of great music at The Grove with an initial goal of raising $20,000 for the school.

With The Grove’s developer, Mark Enderle, in support of the cause kicking off the event with a $10,000 donation. “The Grove is committed to enriching the lives of children and helping local schools in any way possible,” said Enderle. “We saw this event as a great opportunity to support the students and teachers of Page Middle School.”

The event featured songwriters Shane Minor, Lee Miller and Phil O’Donnell; all of whom have written songs for world-renowned artists such as Diamond Rio, Trace Adkins, Blake Shelton, and George Strait. By the end of the night, residents of The Grove raised a grand total of $38,000 for Page Middle School, which is nearly double the initial goal! “Funds raised will go directly to adding and updating Chrome Notebooks and Promethean interactive boards in every classroom. Additionally, they’ll work with the school guidance counselor to help with individual student needs and school supplies,” states event organizer Christy Huff.

At The Grove, we love giving back to our community in any way we can! We greatly enjoyed the opportunity to host the “Songwriter’s Night” for such an incredible cause and we are looking forward to next year’s event already!
