Grove Member Justin Reed, the 17-year-old son of Dr. Kristal and Eric Reed, will play in the Pure Insurance Championship September 25-30, 2018 in Pebble Beach, California. Justin, a senior at Page High School, is the local First Tee of Tennessee chapter’s 8th participant to play in The First Tee event at Pebble Beach. He will play in a team and be paired with a PGA TOUR Champions professional. Participants from across the country get into the event based on several criteria:
- Handicap
- Golf resume
- Recommendations from chapter and non-chapter adults
- Essay
- Interviews
- Volunteerism
- An active member of the program
“You need to be more than just a good golfer to get to play in this event”, says Steve Merrill, Senior Vice President of the Tennessee Golf Foundation. Justin has been in the program for 5 years, since the fall of 2013.
The event will be on the Golf Channel on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 2 – 5pm PST.
