Resident Spotlight: Bert and Katie McCarter

For Bert and Katie McCarter,

Moving to The Grove meant all the conveniences they had known from living in a large city, while also being removed enough to enjoy the open air and the beauty that comes with our part of Tennessee. It was, as they say, the best of both worlds!

What is Your Favorite Part of Living at The Grove?

We love the scenic views. When we walk the dog at night, it’s so peaceful and serene, you really are out in the country…there’s nothing better. I love that everything at The Grove lends itself to being outside, enjoying nature and this beautiful countryside. On the other hand, we are less than 15 minutes from the grocery, shopping and restaurants, churches and top-notch schools. We love near-by Arrington Vineyards for a date night picnic or night out with friends. We are 15 minutes from Cool Springs if we want to catch a movie with the kids. It is the perfect location for a busy family, who also wants to slow down and enjoy quality time together.

What Made You Choose The Grove?

We love that we feel far removed from the city, yet are so close to Downtown Franklin, one of our favorite places, with awesome shops and great restaurants. I love that I can go right across the street to The Hatcher Diary Farm for milk, cheese, local eggs, and meat. My boys can ride the golf cart right up to the club for an afternoon game of golf with their Dad. We enjoy looking out our front door at the horses in the field and walking out our back door to play with our dog in the creek. The kids have so much fun fishing in the stocked fishing pond. I can run to the general store to grab a last minute hostess gift, or a bottle of wine to pair with dinner. We are big cooks so we love the organic garden at The Grove, but also love the to-go menu from the club–great for a busy week night! The amenities at The Grove are second to none!

What is Your Favorite Aspect of Your Home?

Our favorite part of our home has got to be the Kitchen. My husband and I love to cook! We designed our kitchen to be functional, but I also wanted us all to be able to be in there cooking at once–I love to get the kids involved. My kids would probably say the bunk room. They love having their friends and cousins over for sleepovers and the bunk room is the perfect hang out!
