collegiate

The Grove is home to the most comprehensive amenity offering in Middle Tennessee, including the home of the Korn Ferry Tour Simmons Bank Open and a Rewards Program for collegiate golfers pursuing a pro career. The Grove offers a home course where these young golfers can hone their skills and support one another on their way toward national ranking.

In addition to providing a home course for aspiring professionals, The Grove also hosts several collegiate Golf events throughout the year. Most recently, The Grove and Middle Tennessee State University played host to the event on September 18th through 20th. The field was comprised of 14 teams from 10 different states, including Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio, Louisiana, and Wisconsin.

The players were welcomed with true Grove hospitality, spectacular weather, and impeccable course conditions. After 54 holes of play, Ole Miss University emerged as the 2016 Champions with a six-shot victory over runners-up Kennesaw State. Brayden Thornberry of Ole Miss captured the individual honors with scores of 71-69-71 for a total of 211(5 under par).

The home team, Middle Tennessee State University, placed 4th out this field of heavyweights. MTSU Sophomore, Marcus Byrd, finished with scores of 74-70-71 for a total of 215(1 under par) for a third place individual finish. The Grove held its own against a very challenging field, as only 3 individuals finished under par.

The course was set up at 7,300 yards and produced an average score of 75.10 over the 234 rounds that were played!

The Grove is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to host a 2017 NCAA Regional Event in May as well as the 2017 Franklin American Mortgage Intercollegiate in September!
